*DISCLAIMER! THIS IS NOT A REVIEW…OR IS IT?*

It’s Not A Lie ft Wande Coal & Harry Songs – This was the first single off the King Don Come album, I wasn’t feeling it then, I’m not feeling it now. Wande Coal did his thing, Harry Songs wasn’t necessary on this, this is at best a very average D’banj song. 6/10

Be With You – The production trio on this song did their thing, D’banj, however failed to bring this track to life, his lyrics were poor, and his voice? Just take note when you get to 1:32 mark of the song. And I know D’banj claims to be an entertainer and not a singer but this could have been wayyyyy better – 5/10

Te Necesito – This one definitely wasn’t meant for me, from the title alone, you already know D’banj is trying to appeal to a different crowd. Not mad at this, again, I had problems with the lyrics. 6/10

El Chapo ft Gucci Mane and Wande Coal – I don’t know about you but the only thing that I like about this song is the Maleek Berry production, what could have been a shining light in Wande Coals verse was spoilt by auto tune and unnecessary drug talk. We don’t believe you Wande, you need more people – 6/10

As I Dey Go – This is the customary ‘haters song’, Cheeky Chizzy and Tefa really came through on this production. Not bad at all. 6/10

Turn Down For What (Focus) – The heavy Fela influence immediately hits you when you hear this song but as usual, this was marred by subpar lyrics. 6/10

Egweji ft Phyno – I enjoyed the vibe on this, D’banj’s harmonica too came to play. Phyno also did his thing, even though I didn’t understand his lyrics as usual. 7/10

That’s What I Mean ft Kayswitch – At this point I gave up what D’banj has to say, his lyrics were all over the place, nothing even flowed. The James Bond theme song influence made this work for me somehow. 6/10

Ntswempu ft Bicie & Busiswa – C’mon it’s 2017 and D’banj is still making Oliver Twist influenced song. No No No. 4/10

Emergency – This has been out for a while now, pretty decent single. 6/10

Oliver Twist –  Can D’banj finally lay this song to rest now, how many times can you put a song on your album, it was on his last album DKings Men now it’s on King don Come. This song changed the game though, but surely we are all tired of it by now. 9/10

Shoulda – Even the harmonica couldn’t save this one. An unnecessary album filler. 4/10

Verdict: In an attempt to diversify and appeal to a broader audience, D’banj’s King Don Come suffers from painful song-writing and lack of cohesiveness. From the beginning of the album to the end, I couldn’t pick out a stand out track, that’s how poor it was in my opinion
